Kalki - Annihilator/Slayer of Ignorance

According to Hinduism, Kali Yuga is called Dark Age. Why it is called so? Today and 1000 years from now, unimaginable scientific advancements will be achieved which is beyond our today’s imagination. Even for humans who loved 1000 years before, the way we live can’t be comprehended. The humanity with so scientific automation and advancement, will be complete in ignorance about SELF and Vishnu. The divine quest evaporated and fully replaced by materialism and Maya is at its best. Bhoomi lost its purpose of generating Yogis, who will purse Vishnu Abode and provides us her salvation as well. In such a dire state, Bhoomi Matha let out a cry for help. The Divine Realms, Gods and Vishnu responds to that cry for help by incarnating as Kali - slayer fo ignorance.

Kalki Avatar is described in the Vishudharmottara Purana as a robust young man, riding on his white horse, ‘Devadutta’ and with a shiny sword raised in his hand. While some sketch him as being four-armed, most of the records focus on him as two-armed. The scriptures portray emergence of Kalki as a blazing Light when he descends from heaven. Kalki would ride on the horse of purity and might, and ward off and destroy the prevalent evil with his lashing sword of Dharma or righteousness. Therefore his name is endowed with deeper meaning. The name Kalki, literally communicates the meaning, ‘Annhilator of Ignorance’.

Imagine a God roams on earth especially in India in an ancient attire? Today nobody ride horses for daily life and also carry swords. For seekers, it is the concept to be understood for the purpose of this era. In my opinion God never incarnates on earth. Vishnu blesses Yogis/Rishis like to download the divine knowledge and let it flow on earth in many was as per the era of time.

Predictions of Kalki Avatar

Kalki will be endowed with the gifts of intelligence, strength and valour. He will assemble other Brahmins into a formidable army to eradicate evil totally. He will be identified by two of the Nine Immortals or Chiranjeevis from the Mahabharata, Parashurama and Ashwatthama. Parashurama is the 6th Avatar of Vishnu, who replanted the flag of Dharma, by wiping off the oppressive Kshatriya clan from the face of the earth. Parashurama will appear to be the spiritual guide of Kalki, by educating him to undergo penance. Parashurama himself meditated with utmost devotion for 1000 years. Lord Shiva then blessed him with a divine weapon for cleansing vice, as a reward of such penance. He would help Kalki to march forward, following the same path, achieve the Ratna Maru sword and the heavenly parrot, Shuka from Shiva and accomplish his task.

Kalki will marry Padma, the Avatar of Vishnu’s consort, Devi Lakshmi and have two children, sons Jaya and Vijaya. Kalki will also perform the grand Ashwamedha Sacrifice to abolish all vitiated kings and false prophets, before embarking on the mighty assignment of the final obliteration of evil and misery in the Kali Yuga. After the completion of his work, the human shape of Kalki will expose itself in the four-armed cast of Maha Vishnu and return to his celestial abode of Vaikunth.

Kalki Avatar will be that redemptive force that will eliminate the formation of the disgraceful burden of sins. The arrival of Kalki Avatar will cleanse the world from all its sorrows and evils and therefore the world expects it with a lot of expectation and eagerness. His arrival will mark the end of the Kali Yuga and the start of the Krita Yuga.

Faith says the following:

  • Lord Kalki will be born in Sambhal Village.Kalki will be the fifth child of his parents. His father’s name would be Vishnuyasha and mother will be Sumati.
  • Kalki avatar is going to be immaculate and ultimate divine. He will be endowed with divine qualities. He will ride a white horse and will himself be very fair. However, anger will change his colour to black. He will wear yellow clothes and on his chest, there will be a symbol of ‘Shrivatsa’. During the battle, he is described holding two swords in his hands.
  • Kalki can only be the one whose Birthday/Tithi falls on Dvadasi of Sukla Paksha. This amounts to just 12 days per any given year furthermore as it can only be the day of the Lord Sri Maha Vishnu (Chaitra Dwadashi) this amounts to just one day each year or 100 days in the last century.
  • Kalki is said to be the last and the most powerful avatar of Lord Vishnu on Earth. He will be born when the sins committed by people on earth will go beyond being repaired. He will be born to kill all the evils.
  • One of the main reasons Lord Vishnu would come to earth as Kalki is to destroy and defeat evil forces on earth. He would begin this with the battle, and eventual massacre, of the Sunyavadis, who have misled the people, at the city of Keekatpur. A war would later begin with the dark forces of Kali, including the demon generals Koka and Vikoka fighting against Kalki and the Devas. Koka and Vikoka would then be killed by Kalki. Thus, Kali will be defeated at the hands of Dharma, the personification of the Satya Yuga which is evil's polar opposite. Finally, Kalki will be challenged by, and intentionally accept defeat from, Raja Shashidhwaja, and marry the Raja's daughter, his second wife Rama, before the start of the Satya Yuga.
  • At the start of Satya-yuga, the Golden Age, Lord Kalki will divide the planet into earthly kingdoms among his generals, then perform the Ashwamedha and Rajasuya sacrifices for the Devas. His parents, Sumati and Vishnuyasha will then travel to the holy place of Badrikashram, where they will live until their death. After fathering His sons, Meghamaal and Balahaka, Lord Kalki will reign on earth for 1,000 years as the king of Shambhala. Concluding His mission of restoring peace, Kalki will appear in His four-armed form, then return to Vaikuntha.
