Sun is a star not a planet or graha. Moon is a natural satellite or upagraha, not a planet. Rahu and Ketu are imaginary phenomenon related to eclipses. So 5 in 9 grahas are planets. Today's Hindus belief is wrong because we dont understand the fundamental concepts of divinity.
The 5 planets in the solar system are Mars- Mangala, Budha - Mercury, Guru- Jupiter, Sukra - Venus, Sani - Saturn. The other statues in the navagrahas are Sun- star, Soma - Moon satellite, Rahu Lunar ascending, Kethu Lunar descending for eclipses. Uranus and Neptune are not part of navagraha. So west planets of 9 is not same as Navagragas. Today scientific community voted Pluto out of planets. So only 8 Planets. The comparison and understanding is totally wrong.
