Mantra Pushpam

Mantra Pushpam Vedic hymn is chanted at the time of offering flowers to god in pooja. Every pooja must chant mantra pushapm which is from Taittiriya Aranyakam of Yajur Veda which primarily deals with Space. This mantram summarizes the internal journey of a seeker and different space objects, its effects and the meaning of it. It primarily talks about Water, Fire, Air, Sun, Moon, Stars, Clouds and Time.

Aapa means Ether which is the creative force of Vishnu. In earth terms, you can perceive it as water. Vishnu is floating on this cosmic ocean with infinite sheshas, lakshmi as matter, in the yoga trance creating Brahmma. Water also we call it Saraswathi(Knowledge) flows like Ganga.

Pushpam symbolically means a fully beautifully blossomed flower with full of divine nourishment with honey or Amrutham in the center. I the internal seeker should get to the center of this Pushpam to experience Amrutham.

Prajaa means flow of Vasanas meaning unfulfilled subtle experiences of mind. So a person with good vaasana manifests good flow of water and flower.

Chandra means Soma which is bliss presented to mind or Indra from heaven.

Fire the internal divine pure quest for eternal truth. Air is the Prana on earth and also life support of fire which i control in meditation to reach out to heavens.

Sun is the Shinning conscience of mind by Aditi or Savitri or Gayathri. Brilliantly shining illuminated mind is the key to bridge the mind(earth) and Heaven(Sama or Swar).

Nakshtram or Star means that which will not perish, melt away and shinning brightly forever. In internal journey they come in billions to bless the seeker.

Clouds with full of rain water symbolizes the inconscient ocean inside, forms these thick rainy clouds and rains heavily with eternal truths.

Time or Kalachakra is the ever flowing experiences of past, present and future of Aatman.

Now let us tie all the symbolic references chanted in this mantra:

Brahmman is vast and exists in the form of Ether or Water with full of soma or bliss. The Agni the eternal fire, is the root of creation and existence, which illuminates the mind or Indra by the suns or Surya which is enriched by Cow or Ray of eternal truth comes in abundance of Clouds of Rain of Stars or Nakshtrani in this never ending Kala or Eternal Time which is presented to the Seeker in the form of Fully Blossomed Lotus Flower. I the seeker will reach the center to experience the Honey or Amrutham as a butterfly.
